Mustangs Earn Second Win Over Huntingdon Of Weekend

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Stevenson University women's beach volleyball team picked up its second victory of the weekend against Huntingdon College on Sunday by a 4-1 score.  The Mustangs also defeated the Liberty University club team 5-0.

Against the Hawks, Emily Pellini and Mackenzie Blevins rallied at No. 4 for a 16-21, 21-15, 15-8 win.  The Mustangs took wins in each of the top four flights, with Piper Connors and Darian Hileman winning 21-8, 21-18 at No. 1.  Trang Christensen and Katie Leftridge prevailed 21-5, 21-14 at No. 2, while Caroline Dangel and Emily Castro were 21-16, 21-17 winners at No. 3.

In the first match of the day against the Flames, the Mustangs won four matches in straight sets.  Dangel and Castro rallied No. 3 after dropping the first set, winning 18-21, 21-15, 15-8.

Stevenson is back in action Friday, April 19, when it begins play in the AVCA Small College National Championship in Taveras, Florida.
