VJC Drops Two Games to Salisbury

Salisbury, MD - Villa Julie dropped the first game of a Double Header to Salisbury 4-1, behind a strong pitching performance from Junior Chris Hayden.  Salisbury scored 3 in the bottom of the first on an array of hits including a seeing eye single and a bunt single, but the Mustangs could not recover.  The lone run came off of a Solo Home Run by Junior Brett Steele who finished the first game 2-3.

In game two the Mustangs made an array of mental and physical mistakes to ensure a Salisbury victory by a score of 17-3.  The Sea Gulls put the game away with a 6 run 3rd inning, where most of the runs were unearned because of errors committed by the Mustangs as they finished the game with 6 errors in total.  Offensively, Junior Ryan Baione was 2-2 with an RBI, Freshman Kyle Van Beek was 2-3 with 1 RBI, and Sophomore George Papuchis was 3-4, hitting his 10th double of the season.  The Mustangs are now 8-8-1, and are back in action at home Sunday at 1pm vs Keystone College.
