Mustangs Win 2 CAC Games at Home
Glen Burnie, MD - The Villa Julie Baseball Team got back to winning ways with a two game sweep over Gallaudet University. The Mustangs were on fire with the bat, winning 17-1 in Game 1 and 15-1 in Game 2.
In Game 1, Senior Started Buddy Breidenbaugh pitched 5 effective innings allowing 0 hits and striking out 6 en route to his 2nd victory of the season. Offensively, Freshman Kyle Van Beek was 2-3 with 3 RBI's and Junior Max Eckert was 3-5 with 3 RBI's. Junior Brett Steele, Sophomore George Papuchis, Freshman Steve Krider, and Junior Sean Dolan each added 2 hits a piece.
Game 2 was started by Junior Ryan Baione who threw 4 innings striking out 4 and allowing 1 run to pick up his 1st victory on the season. Offensively, Junior Marc Payne had a terrific day as he was 3-5 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI's. Freshman Nick Sydnor was 2-4 with 3 runs and 3 RBI's, Senior Buddy Breidenbaugh finished 2-2 with 3 RBI's and Sophomore George Papuchis chipped in with 2 hits on the day as well.
The Mustangs are back in action on Wednesday at home vs the University of Mary Washington for a 3pm start to continue CAC action.
