Villa Julie Pounds Gettysburg, 14-5

Gettysburg, PA - The Villa Julie College Baseball team continue to pound the ball as they beat non-conference opponent Gettysburg College, 14-5.

Villa opened the scoring in the first inning thanks to a 2 run double by Sophomore George Papuchis, and a RBI single by Junior Griffin Stewart, then never looked back as they put up 11 more runs.  Sophomore John Jackson pitched 5 innings giving up only 1 run to earn his 5th victory of the season.  Freshman Kyle Van Beek continued his amazing season as he was 3-5 with a double and an RBI, Papuchis was 3-5 with 2 doubles making it 23 on the season, a home run which is team leading 5, and 6 RBI's to lead the team with 46.  Freshman Dustin Tarlow added a 3-5 night with a double and a triple, and Senior Jimmy Smith hit his 10th home run of his career to break the school record and drove in 3 runs.  

The Mustangs are back in action on Sunday at Shenandoah University for a double header starting at Noon.
