Baseball Supports Believe in Tomorrow Foundation

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The 44 players and six coaches of the Stevenson baseball team have more than Spring Training on their calendars. They are scheduling projects to support the Baltimore-based Believe In Tomorrow National Children's Foundation, the exclusive hospital housing provider for the Johns Hopkins Children's Center.

The Believe In Tomorrow Children's House at Johns Hopkins and the Believe In Tomorrow House at St. Casimir, which provides long term hospital housing for bone marrow transplant patients and their families, offer families a warm, welcoming and comfortable place to stay while their child receives medical treatments.

Believe In Tomorrow also has five destination-driven respite houses families can utilize free of charge to escape to the beach or the mountains to relax together and create joyful memories outside of a hospital or clinical environment.

The team will be cleaning the Believe In Tomorrow House at St. Casimir, in Canton regularly as well as maintaining the outdoor areas of the property, which was formerly a convent. They are also "on call" for any odds and ends projects, like painting, moving furniture or seasonal needs.

In addition, the team is spearheading a non-perishable food drive, preparing family suppers for guests staying at the facilities and hosting game nights. The team is working with Believe In Tomorrow to honor the memory of Vincent "Vinnie" Hillen, brother of sophomore Woodrow Hillen (Columbia/Oakland Mills), who spent time with his family at the Believe In Tomorrow House on Wisp Mountain.

"We are so grateful to have this army of extraordinary volunteers, who truly help us drive our mission forward," said Brian Morrison, Founder and CEO of Believe In Tomorrow National Children's Foundation. "The addition and support of Stevenson's baseball team will only help strengthen our ability to continue to offer our families exceptional hospital and respite housing services."

Believe In Tomorrow National Children's Foundation provides exceptional hospital and respite housing for thousands of critically ill children and their families each year.

Founded in 1982, Believe In Tomorrow has designed unique programs, including Respite Housing, Hospital Housing and Hands On Adventures, that provide ongoing support to children and their families, from the child's diagnosis to the end of the treatment process.

The foundation's Hands On Adventure Partners include the Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR), the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) and the Lightship Group, who provide blimp and other aerial experiences for Believe In Tomorrow children.
