Mark Chiveral
Title: Assistant Coach |
Mark Chiveral Baseball
Mark Chiveral begins his 10th year as Assistant Coach at Stevenson University. He has served as the pitching coach since the start of the SU baseball program. During his tenure, he has developed the pitching staff as a key strength of the team. Coach Chiveral believes strong pitching and solid defense will position the SU program to be very competitive in the 2007 season. In 2006, his pitching staff amassed the most wins in VJC history with 29, and an ERA of 4.00. In 2007, that was backed up with an ERA of 4.01. With freshman and sophomores representing close to 75% of those innings, he is expecting a spectacular year out of some of the veterans on the staff.
Prior to joining SU, Coach Chiveral served as an Assistant Pitching Coach at Loyola College for 7 years. During the summer, Mark is a player/manager for the Degroen's Baseball Club, which is part of the Baltimore Baseball League.
A graduate of Patterson High School, Mark lettered in football and baseball and had a lifetime pitching record of 18 wins and loss. Mark also attended Essex Community College, where he was the anchor of the pitching staff for 2 seasons. Mark is currently employed by Johns Hopkins University Department of Biostatistics. Mark, his wife Suzanne and daughter Madelyn reside in Arbutus, Maryland.
