Mustangs to Present at DC/Northern Virginia Nike Coach of the Year Clinic
OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Stevenson football coaching staff will be making a presentation on Sunday, January 29 as part of the 2012 Washington D.C./Northern Virginia Nike Coach of the Year Football Clinic at the Westfield Marriott Conference Center in Chantilly, Virginia.
The Mustangs will be hosting a staff breakout beginning at 9:40 a.m., in the Lincoln Forum that will take place before Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney's presentation on the Tigers' explosive offense and developing the complete wide receiver.
Also scheduled to present is Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer and University of Kentucky head coach Joker Philips as well as former Washington Redskins offensive lineman Joe Jacobi.
Led by head coach Ed Hottle, the Stevenson coaching staff led the Mustangs to a 2-8 record in their inaugural season in 2011. The team earned the first win in school history with a 46-43 double overtime victory at home over Christopher Newport on September 10 and posted the first conference win in school history at FDU-Florham on October 29.
The Mustangs also boasted three All-Middle Atlantic Conference Second Team selections in freshmen Ryan Crawley (North Babylon, N.Y./North Babylon), Jae DeShields (Bridgeton, N.J./Bridgeton) and Donnell Brown (Baltimore, Md./Poly).
