ANNVILLE, Pa. - Stevenson football junior Tim Campbell and senior Jeromie Miller were one of 22 players named to inaugural Middle Atlantic Conference Academic All-Conference Football Team released on Thursday by MAC Executive Director Ken Andrews.
"In Fall 2013, the MAC instituted a new award to acknowledge the top scholar-athletes in each sport." said Andrews. "Over the years, we have named top students to the academic honor roll and superior athletes to all-conference teams. This recognition, modeled on the (CoSIDA) Academic All-America program, combines the two components of a student-athlete into one conference honor."
In order to be nominated for Academic All-Conference, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher, maintain at least a 3.2 grade point average and compete in the season for which they are being honored. Nominations from each school are submitted to the MAC office by each institution's sports information director, then voted upon by the 18 MAC SID's.
Campbell owns a 3.47 grade point average while majoring in business administration. A two-time MAC Fall Academic Honor Roll, he finished second on the team in total tackles this season with 71, three short of his career-high.
Miller owns a 3.27 grade point average while majoring in business administration. A two-time MAC Fall Academic Honor Roll selection, he was named to the All-Commonwealth Conference Second Team as a return specialist this season while earning honorable mention honors at wide receiver.
