ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Stevenson University football team has qualified for postseason play for the fifth straight season. The Mustangs (8-2, 7-1 Middle Atlantic Conference) have earned the top seed from the MAC in the 2018 Centennial-MAC Bowl Series, and will travel to the Centennial Conference's top seed, Susquehanna (7-3, 6-3 Centennial) on Saturday, November 17. Game time will be 1 pm on Saturday.
Stevenson, which competed in the inaugural Centennial-MAC Bowl Series in 2015, enters Saturday's game on a five-game win streak after blanking FDU-Florham 34-0 this past Saturday. The Mustangs defeated Muhlenberg 14-9 in the 2015 Centennial-MAC Bowl. Both of Stevenson's losses came to teams that qualified for the NCAA Championship in Frostburg State and Delaware Valley.
The River Hawks have won four straight contests following a 24-6 win over Juniata on Saturday. Susquehanna is making its second straight Centennial-MAC Bowl Series appearance, downing Albright 28-9 last season.
Stevenson and Susquehanna have never met on the gridiron.
Saturday's other games will feature MAC No. 2 Misericordia hosting Centennial No. 2 Ursinus, while MAC No. 3 Lycoming will travel to Centennial No. 3 Franklin and Marshall.
Tickets are $5.00, $2.00 for students and children 6 and under admitted free.
The two conferences will support the NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) partnership with Special Olympics by donating 25 percent of ticket revenue generated during the Bowl Series to the organization. Giving back to local and regional communities not only adds to the comprehensive learning component of Division III, but also provides a venue for passion and service.
