A native of Owings Mills, Burrell returns for his second season as an assistant coach at Stevenson where he serves as the running backs coach.

Prior to Stevenson, Burrell spent a year as an assistant coach with Digital Harbor High School in 2008. Prior that that, he spent six years as a head coach in area youth football and was involved in a number of roles including program director.

In 2001, Burrell also served as a senior scout for Forest Park Senior High School and scouted opposing teams and consulted with coaches on upcoming games.

Burrell is a 2007 graduate of Frostburg State where he received a bachelor's degree in recreation, and also earned an associate of arts degree in business management from Baltimore City Community College.
