Railey Garners First Victory At VJC
Owings Mills, MD.- Coach Kathy Railey and her Mustangs got their first win of the season against Wells College in Day 2 of the Black Eyed Susan Tournament. The Mustangs won 4-0 even though Wells' goalie, Beth Cereo, was able to make 9 saves. The Mustang defense held the Express offense to no shots on goal, and Mustang goals were scored by Krissy Leventis (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Lutheran), Sarah Bauer (Baltimore, MD/Perry Hall), Raechel Manly Bel Air, MD/Bel Air), and Ashley Lyall (Lusby, MD/Patuxent). Cat Connelly (Fallston, MD/Fallston), Jennifer SauersBaltimore, MD/Perry Hall), and Cara Albanese (North East, MD/Perryville) each contributed an assist for Villa Julie.
The Black Eyed Susan Tournament championship will be played later this afternoon between Bridgewater College and Delaware Valley College. The Mustangs' next game is scheduled for September 6 when they host St. Mary's College.
