Mustangs Victorious Over CAC-Foe

Owings Mills, MD-  The women's field hockey team celebrated their first conference win against the University of Mary Washington this afternoon.  As a team, the Mustangs had an amazing day both offensively and defensively.  Krissy Leventis (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Lutheran) continues to be the leading scorer for the Mustangs by scoring the lone goal with 18 minutes left in the game. 

Natalie DiPaolo (Baltimore, MD/Perry Hall) with teammate, Cat Connelly (Fallston, MD/Fallston), had amazing midfield action which enabled the smooth transitions from defense to offense throughout the game. 

Christie Greer (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air) was the defensive wall for the Mustangs with help from Rachel Dell (Hampstead, MD/North Carroll) and Jackie Wright (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin)

Goalie, Kara Zimmerman (Odenton, MD/Arundel) dominated in goal facing 13 shots and making 5 saves.  Zimmerman had 3 rapid saves within the last minute of the game to lock in the win for the Mustangs. 

The 1-0 win brings the Mustangs' conference record to 1-2 for the season and their overall record improves to 2-7. 

The Mustangs next game will be on Monday, October 1, at home against Sweet Briar College at 3 p.m.
