Stevenson Places 10 on NFHCA Academic Squad
OWINGS MILLS, Md. - A total of 10 Stevenson University field hockey players, including All-CAC First Team selections, senior Cat Connelly (Fallston/Fallston) and sophomore Christie Greer (Bel Air/Bel Air), were named to the NFHCA Division III Academic Squad, the fourth-highest total in the CAC.
Other Mustangs named to the team included freshman Kelli Battista (Elkridge/Long Reach), junior Sarah Bauer (Baltimore/Perry Hall), sophomore Natalie DiPaolo (Baltimore/Perry Hall), sophomore Sara Dixon (Aberdeen/Aberdeen), freshman Jorden Haney (Elkridge/Long Reach), junior Raechel Manly (Bel Air/Bel Air), sophomore Jennifer Sauers (Baltimore/Perry Hall) and sophomore Jackie Wright (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin).
The NFHCA National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2008-09 academic year.
A total of 61 players, representing all seven CAC teams, were named to the squad with St. Mary's (Md.) leading the way with 16 selections. York (Pa.) was second with 12 followed by 11 from Salisbury and 10 from Stevenson.
Mary Washington had five selections, Hood four and Wesley three.
