OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson University field hockey team hosts Virginia Wesleyan to open the 2018 season on Friday, August 31 at 4:00 pm at Mustang Stadium, beginning a 17-game slate for the Mustangs.
The first seven games of the season are against non-conference foes for the Mustangs, including home dates against Salisbury (Sept. 5), Shenandoah (Sept. 15) and Rowan (Sept. 18). The Sea Gulls ended last season ranked No. 6, one of three teams ranked in the final NFHCA poll Stevenson will face. The Mustangs also travel to Catholic, the No. 15 team at the end of last season, on Tuesday, September 11.
After opening MAC Commonwealth play at Alvernia Saturday, September 22, the Mustangs host Gettysburg (Sept. 25) before heading to Messiah on Saturday, September 29. The Falcons were ranked No. 1 in last season's final poll and reached NCAA title game, following to Middlebury.
Stevenson is home four times in October, beginning with a Wednesday, October 3 non-conference contest against York (Pa.). The Mustangs also host Widener (Oct. 6), Hood (Oct. 17) and Albright (Oct. 20) and close out the regular season Wednesday, October 24 at Lebanon Valley.
The MAC Commonwealth semifinals are set for Wednesday, October 31, with the conference title game Saturday, November 3.
