Steven Segears Named Player of the Week

Rockville, MD- Villa Julie College stormed through the North Eastern Athletic Conference tournament and won the NEAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III tournament last week, largely due to this week's PrestoSports/Pride of Maryland Player of the Week Steven Segears (Lanham, MD/St. John's High). The Mustangs (20-7 overall) defeated Philadelphia Bible 83-68, Keuka 95-73 and Chestnut Hill 94-92 to earn their second trip to the NCAA's in as many years.

Against Philadelphia Bible, Segears scored 26 points and added 10 rebounds. Against Keuka, Segears recorded the first triple-double in school history, notching 23 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists. In the title game, the 6'4" guard added 17 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. For these heroics, he was named the NEAC Tournament Most Valuable Player. (Courtesy of PrestoSports)
