Men's Basketball Drops 75-66 Decision to McDaniel

STEVENSON, Md. - McDaniel used a 21-8 run midway through the second half to increase its lead to 13 and never let it slip below six as the Green Terror handed Stevenson a 75-66 loss Saturday night at Student Union Gymnasium in the Provident Pride Tournament.

Louis Sarris-Grau led McDaniel (2-1), the 2007 Provident Pride champions, with 18 points and eight rebounds, both game-highs. He was one of three players in double figures for the Green Terror as Chad Arrington added 15 and T.J. Odunlami had 13, nine of which came from the free throw line.

With the game tied at 43-43 with 15:05 left in the second half, McDaniel used its 21-8 run to take a 64-51 with 7:30 remaining. During the run, Arrington and Sarris-Grau each had six points while Keivn Henry added four.

The Green Terror increased the lead to 14, 67-53, before a 10-2 run by Stevenson (0-5) cut the margin to six with 1:54 to play.

However, McDaniel made five of six free throws in the final minute to seal the nine-point victory.

Senior Greg Woody (Baltimore/Mount Saint Joseph) led four Mustangs in double figures with 16 points, 10 of which came from the free throw line where he was a perfect 10-for-10. Senior Chaise Lancaster (Bowie/Northwestern) had 14 while senior Kerry Dugan (Sparks/Hereford) and senior Ely Richardson (Hartford, Conn./Suffield Academy) had 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Woody also had a team-high seven rebounds.

Stevenson will face cross town rival Goucher in the seventh-place game on Sunday at noon.
