ATLANTA, Ga. - Led by a team-high 20 points by sophomore Christian Roberts, the Stevenson men's basketball team had six players, including all five starters, score in double figures as the Mustangs defeated La Grange 102-90 in the Country Inn and Suites Holiday Classic.
The last time the Mustangs (8-1) scored 100 points in a game was on Jan. 12, 2013 in a 104-100 overtime loss to Commonwealth Conference opponent Lycoming.
After trailing by four early in the first half, junior Colby Giacubeno hit his first of three three-pointers in the game, followed by a three-point play from senior Stefon McCray to give the Mustangs the lead for good.
Junior Justin Kuntz recorded his second double double this season totaling 13 points and 10 rebounds while McCray scored 17 points on 5-of-9 shooting while also connecting on 7-of-8 free throws off the bench.
Stevenson shot 53.5 percent from the field, marking the second-straight time the team has shot at least 50.0 percent and sixth overall.
The Panthers (4-5) were led by Denzel Robinson who totaled a game-high 24 points, connecting on 11-of-15 free throws while also totaling seven rebounds, five assists, three steals and one bloclk.
The Mustangs scored 21 points off turnover while also holding a 36-35 edge in rebounds.
Stevenson will play host Oglethorpe in the Country Inn and Suites Holiday Classic on Monday beginning at 8:00 p.m.
