ANNVILLE, Pa. – Senior Danzel Wright of the Stevenson University men's basketball team was named MAC Commonwealth Second Team All-Conference, the conference announced on Thursday.
Wright, in his lone season in a Mustang uniform, averaged 20.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. He reached double figures in scoring 24 times in 25 games and scored at least 20 points on 14 occasions, including a pair of 30-point performances. He ranks among the national leaders in free throw percentage at .900 and ranks second in the MAC Commonwealth in scoring. His 20.3 ppg scoring average is the highest by a Mustang since SU Hall of Famer Anthony Fitzgerald scored 20.9 ppg in the 2004-05 season.
Stevenson improved its won-loss total by seven games from 2015-16 to 2016-17, finishing with an 11-14 overall record.
