Golf Team Earns CAC Accolades
York, Pa - The Villa Julie College golf team capped a successful weekend in the CAC Tournament by having 3 players earn CAC All-Conference team awards. Coach Chris Ramer was also selected as the 2008 CAC Golf Coach of the Year.
The Mustangs finished 2nd in the first ever CAC tournament that was held at Villa's home course, Piney Branch Country Club in Hampstead, MD. The top five players in the tournament were awarded first-team all-conference recognition while the next five were named second-team all-conference players. Senior Steve Watts was impressive all weekend and gave the nationally ranked Wesley's players a battle for the indivdual championship. Watts finished in second place, only one stroke behing the winner. Sophomore Matt Lukehart finished in fourth, after an excellent round of 76 on day one of the event. Junior Kevin Motz ended the tournament in ninth, earning 2nd Team All-Conference honors after a shooting an 81 on day two. Coach Chris Ramer, in his fourth season, completed the accolades, by being selected as the 2008 CAC Golf Coach of the Year by his fellow coaches.
