DESTIN, Fla. - Stevenson men's golf senior Justin Hughes (Baldwin, Md./Calvert Hall) and junior Ben Lukehart (Bel Air, Md./Mt. Carmel) were both named Division III Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars on Tuesday by the Golf Coaches Association of America. They were two of 30 scholars honored by the GCAA.
In addition, Lukehart was one of 12 golfers named to the Division III PING Mid-Atlantic All-Region Team.
Hughes has competed in 12 events this season, totaling with three top-5 and four top-10 finishes whole posting a 78.6 stroke average.
Lukehart has appeared in 11 events this year, posting a 76.4 stroke average and totaling two top-5 and seven top-10 finishes. He earned low medalist honors at the Stevenson Fall Invitational with a tw-day 153.
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically and compete in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke average under 79.0 in Division III and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2.
A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
