Shur Opens Ted Keller Memorial With 77, Mustangs Sixth in Team Standings

ASHLAND, VA. - Stevenson men's golf sophomore Matthew Shur shot a 77 in the opening round of the two-day Ted Keller Memorial, held at the Hanover Country Club. Shur, who was just one stroke off of his season best, is currently tied for 19th.

The Mustangs are in sixth place out of 12 schools with a team score of 315.  

Sophomore Andrew Wally carded his fifth round of the season under 80 with a nine-over par 79. Junior Josh Maisel, who also shot a 79, is tied for 26th alongside Wally on the leaderboard. 

Senior Austin Fuglestad opened up the tournament with an 80 to complete the team score for Stevenson. 

Sophomores Johnny Messina and Matthew Maione carded rounds of 84 and 92 for the Mustangs. 

Daniel Harcourt of Gettysburg leads the field by three strokes after finishing the round at one-under par. Franklin & Marshall and Gettysburg are tied atop the team standings with scores of 299. 

The second and final round takes place on Tuesday, October 10th.
