Men's Golf Finishes 36th at NCAA's

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Stevenson men's golf team finished 36th overall out of 42 teams at the NCAA Division III Golf Championship held at the Grandover Resort. The Mustangs, who were making their fourth NCAA appearance in the last six years, finished with a two-day score of 636. The top 18 teams advanced to the next two rounds of the tournament.

With play being suspended due to rain on the first day of the tournament, teams had to finish the first round before starting the second round later in the day. 

Junior Josh Maisel finished the opening round with a 77 (+5), placing him into a tie for 87th overall. Maisel finished one stroke better in the second, giving him a two-day total of 153. Maisel, who finished tied for 86th, finishes the season with 11 rounds under 80. 

Sophomore Matthew Shur carded a 77 in the first round, giving him 10 rounds under 80 on the year. Shur followed that up with an 81 in the second round for a total score of 158.

Sophomore Tyler Slusarczyk shot an 82 to open up tournament play before shooting an 80 in the second round. Sophomore Matthew Maione carded rounds of 81 and 82 to round out the team score for the Mustangs. 

Junior Chris Miller finished with scores of 83 and 84, respectively.

Heading into the final two rounds, Guilford leads the team standings with a score of 578. Austin Wells of Otterbein leads the field at five-under par.
