Men's Golf Takes Fifth at Elizabethtown Fall Invite

HERSHEY, Pa. - The Stevenson men's golf team took fifth place overall out of 19 teams at the Elizabethtown Fall Invitational, held at the Hershey Country Club East Course. The Mustangs, who finished with a team score of 307 (+23), finished 15 strokes back of first-place Gettysburg. 

Senior Wynn Geis led the way for Stevenson with a four-over par 75, which placed him into a tie for 11th overall on the leaderboard. 

Freshman Mike Festa finished a stroke back of Geis with a personal-best score of 76 to finish tied for 16th, while junior Evan Welsh carded a 77 for the day.

Graduate student Matt Rentz shot a 78 to complete the team score for Stevenson.

Senior Chris Miller shot an 83 for the Mustangs.

Dane Sethre-Hofstad of Gettysburg won the tournament by one stroke with a three-under par 68. 

The Mustangs will tee off next at the two-day Tom Kinder Memorial, held at the Lakeview Golf Club in Harrisonburg, Va., starting on Monday, September 24.
