Shur Leads Mustangs on Final Day of McDaniel Spring Invite

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. - Junior Matthew Shur notched an 81 in the final round of the McDaniel Spring Invitational, held at The Bridges Golf Club, to finish tied for 34th overall. Shur's second round score, which was one stroke better than his opening round score, was his lowest on the spring.

The Mustangs finished tied for 13th overall with a two-day score of 667. 

Senior Josh Maisel, who also carded an 81, finished with a total score of 166 for the tournament.

Junior Tyler Slusarczyk matched his opening round score with an 84, while freshman Shane Angle improved on his opening round score by six strokes (82).

Grad student Matt Rentz mirrored his opening round score with an 88. 

Host McDaniel took the team title with a total score of 619 (+43). Michael Lange of Rosemont (+7) won the tiebreaker over McDaniel's Kevin Keane to take the individual title. 

The Mustangs host the Stevenson Spring Invitational on Monday, April 1 at the Piney Branch Golf Club. Opening tee is set for 12:00 p.m.
