ROCHESTER, N.Y. - For the third time this season, the Stevenson men's ice hockey team has had the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) Rookie of the Week as freshman Aaron Murray earned the honor for his three point weekend performance announced by the league on Tuesday.
Murray joins classmates Houston Wilson and Carl Lyden who won rookie of the week honors on November 7 and January 23, respectively. It is also the sixth weekly honor for the Mustangs (10-7-7) in the UCHC.
In two games last week, Murray totaled three assists, including his first career multi-point performance. In the opening game versus 9th-ranked Utica, the rookie dished out an assist on a power play goal in the first period. Murray followed up that performance with a pair of assists in the first period of a 3-2 victory versus Nazareth.
Stevenson concludes the 207-18 regular season on Friday, February 16 when the Mustangs travel to Neumann for a UCHC contest beginning at 7:00 p.m.
