Mustangs Ranked 20th in National Preseason Rankings
Owings Mills, MD - The Villa Julie Men's Lacrosse team have been ranked 20th in the country in Lacrosse magazine's annual preseason college rankings for Division III. The ranking along with Villa Julie Lacrosse Player Jimmy Dailey (Westminster, MD/Winter Mills) being listed by Inside Lacrosse as a pre-season All-American bolds well for the future of the Mustang program.
Last season, Villa Julie ended with a 11-5 record and finished second in their first season in the Capital Athletic Conference. The Mustangs, under the direction of third-year head coach Paul Cantabene , turned the Division III lacrosse community on its head when it opened the season with an incredible 10-9 win over number three ranked and defending national champion Cortland State University at home. The Mustangs will face four teams appearing in this year's pre-season rankings, including two Top 5 teams in Salisbury University and Gettysburg College.
The Mustangs open the 2008 season at home against CAC opponent St. Mary's College on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 1 p.m.
