Larry Myers was diagnosed with Huntington's Disease 3 ½ years ago and has been living with it ever since.  Like many other families who encounter the daily pressures of coping with HD, Larry's is no different.  It is an honor that his children are raising awareness of HD in his name.  One of Larry's great pleasures in life was to watch his sons play the games they love.  Now the Myers family is reaching out to the lacrosse community, trying to raise funding and awareness for the many families affected by HD.

There will be a pre-game celebration on the evening of October 13th.  The Mad River Bar & Grille in Baltimore will play host to the Larry Myers Lacrosse Classic Pre-game Party with all you can eat appetizers and open bar from 7pm to 10pm.  This celebration is sponsored by Diesel Lacrosse. Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased by visiting www.hdsa.org/Maryland or by calling our Regional office at (877) 38-HDSA1.

Huntington's Disease (HD) is a devastating, degenerative brain disorder for which there is no effective treatment or cure.  HD slowly diminishes the patient's ability to walk, think, talk, and reason, eventually rendering him or her totally dependent upon others for daily care.  Huntington's Disease research benefits not just HD, but ALL neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's.

All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the research being performed at the Baltimore Huntington's Disease Center of Excellence at Johns Hopkins University.

The HDSA is a 501c.3 non-profit organization committed to promoting and supporting research to find a cure, helping patients and families affected by the disease, and increasing public awareness of HD.

There are also several opportunities still available for sponsorship.  Call our office or email us at jwilliams@hdsa.org or bmyers@vjc.edu to get information on how you can show your support.
