Men's Lax Downs Another Opponent At Home

Owings Mills, MD - The Mustangs overpowered another team at
home to bring their record to 4-1. They faced Wheaton College (0-1)
and left the field victorious with a final score of 17-5. Villa
took 49 shots and earned 40 groundballs to Wheaton’s 25 shots
and 26 groundballs.
Villa took a quick lead in the first quarter with goals by
Kevin Donnelly (Laurel, MD/St. Vincent Pallotti),
Tyler Maguire (Montauk, NY/Whittier College), and
Steve Kazimer (Syracuse, NY/Henniger), while
Wheaton remained scoreless. Wheaton scored the first goal of the
second quarter followed by three Mustang goals. Before the end of
the half, Wheaton and Villa managed to score twice more for a
half-time score of 8-3.
Villa dominated in the third quarter, scoring seven goals
to Wheaton’s one. They also grabbed two more in the final
quarter while Wheaton scored the last of the game to bring the
final score to 17-5.
Villa was led by Richie Ford (Baltimore,
MD/Towson) and Donnelly with four
goals each. They were followed by Drew Brady (Newton
Square, PA/Penncrest) with three goals. The Mustangs
were led defensively by Mike Simon (Fallston,
MD/Fallston) and Austin Hale (Baltimore,
MD/Eastern) with three caused turnovers each.
The Mustangs are back in action on March 15 when they travel to
University of Mary Washington for a 1:00 p.m. face-off.
