#18 Villa Julie Beats Conference Rival Mary Washington

Fredericksburg, VA - The number #18 ranked Villa Julie College men's lacrosse team got off to a quick start against the University of Mary Washington and finished with a convincing 15-9 win. The Mustangs improve to 5-1 overall, and remain unbeaten in Capital Athletic Conference play with a 2-0 record.
The nationally-ranked Mustangs scored five of the game's first six goals. The Eagles cut the defecit to three but then a series of Eagle penalties allowed several Mustang extra man opportunities, and Villa Julie held a 9-3 halftime advantage.
The Mustangs upped the lead to 12-4 in the third quarter, but UMW rallied to move the score to 12-6. The two teams traded goals the rest of the way for a 15-9 final.
Villa Julie was led by Nic Bevacqua (Booton Township, NJ/Mt. Lakes) with 5 goals and 2 assists. Richie Ford (Baltimore, MD/Towson) added 3 goals and 4 assists and Kevin Donnelly (Laurel, MD/St. Vincent Pallotti) for the second game in a row contributed 4 goals.
The Mustangs will be back in action against Trinity College at home on Wednesday at Owings Mills. The game is scheduled for a 3pm start.
