Mustangs Blitz Blazers

Frederick, MD - The Villa Julie College Men's Lacrosse Team continued where they left off on Wednesday by hitting 30 goals in a win over conference foe, Hood College. This was the Mustang's final regular season CAC game and they must now wait for other CAC results to determine who they will face in the Conference Quarter-finals on Monday. The Mustangs are now 10-3 overall and finished 6-1 in the conference.

Like Wednesday's game against Marymount, the Mustangs conceded the first goal of the game to their opponent. The Blazers lead lasted only 12 seconds as Chris Baldwin recorded the Mustangs first goal of the game. The Mustangs scored eight more goals in the first period to Hood's two, to lead 9-3 at the first interval. The second period was like the first with Mustangs controlling the ball to finish the half with a 20-5 advantage.

The Mustangs continued to control the second half , scoring another 10 goals and only allowing the Blazers one more. Leading the way on offense for the Mustangs was Kevin Donnelly with 7 goals, followed by Richie Ford with 4, and Shane Clift and James Bridgeman each adding 3. Steve Kazimer contributed 5 assists in the rout. All four goalkeepers played a period each with Geoff Hebert keeping a shut-out in the last period.

The Mustangs will be back in action on Monday at home in the CAC Quarter-finals. Opponent and time have yet to be determined. Check the website for updates.
