Bracket:  Printable | Live

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The No. 1-ranked Stevenson men's lacrosse team, making its second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship, received a first round bye and will host a familiar opponent in either Cabrini or Denison on Saturday, May 15 at Caves Athletics Complex.

The CAC champion Mustangs (17-1) received the second seed in the South Region and will host the winner of Wednesday's first round game between the Cavaliers and Big Red at Cabrini.

Other first round games on Wednesday in the South Region include Widener at Springfield, Ohio Wesleyan and Dickinson and Wittenberg at Roanoke. The other three teams receiving first round byes in the south were Salisbury, Haverford and Gettysburg.

The region's top seed, Salisbury will host the winner of Widener and Springfield, Centennial Conference champion Haverford will host the winner between Ohio Wesleyan and Dickinson while Gettysburg will welcome the winner of Wittenberg and Roanoke.

Stevenson advanced to the semifinals of the 2009 NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship before dropping a 12-7 decision to Gettysburg at home. The Mustangs and Bullets could be headed for a rematch in this year's quarterfinals on Wednesday, May 19 should both teams win their second round contests on May 15.

Stevenson's second round match-up will feature a familiar foe regardless of who wins as the Mustangs were former CSAC rivals with Cabrini and ousted the Cavaliers in last year's second round.

As for Denison, Stevenson has won the only two previous meetings with the Big Red in school history, including last Saturday's 13-9 decision in Owings Mills.

Looking ahead should both teams advance to the semifinals on Sunday, May 23, Stevenson and Salisbury could meet for the third time this season and sixth in the last two with a berth in the national championship game at M&T Bank Stadium on the line.

More information on the Mustangs' second round contest will be available at gomustangsports.com later this week as it becomes available.
