Mike Simon Reaches Sixth Major League Lacrosse Championship Game

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Former Stevenson University men's lacrosse standout Mike Simon '09 advanced to his sixth Major League Lacrosse championship game as the Denver Outlaws edged the Chesapeake Bayhawks 13-12 on Saturday.  Denver will face the Dallas Rattlers in the MLL championship game on Saturday, August 18 at 7:00 Eastern in Charleston, South Carolina.  The game can be seen live on ESPNews.

Simon was a member of the Bayhawks as they reached the championship game in 2012 and 2013 and joined the Outlaws prior to the 2014 season. Denver reached the title game in 2014 as well as in each of the past three seasons.  Simon has been a member of four championship teams and will be going for his fifth title on Saturday.

A three-time MLL All-Star, Simon has appeared in 80 career games.  This season, the defender has played in 13 contests and picked up 25 ground balls to go along with a goal and two assists. 

Simon played for Stevenson from 2006-09 and registered 87 caused turnovers in 67 games while also picking up 150 ground balls.  He was an USILA Second Team All-American as a senior in 2009 as he helped lead the Mustangs to their first-ever NCAA tournament appearance.
