VJC Outscores PSU 7-1
The Mustangs jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with goals by
Scott Andrzejewski (Lutherville, MD/Towson) and
Kim Myrick (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake) who was
assisted by Kyle Chesser (Forest Hill,
MD/Redeemer).
PSU cut the lead to 2-1 with an unassisted goal from Bryan
Laskey, but that is the closest they would get to the
Mustangs. VJC ended the half up 3-1 with a goal from
Sean Messenger (Abingdon, MD/Harford Tech) with an
assist from Kim Myrick (Columbia, MD/Wilde
Lake).
The second half proved to be dominated by the Mustangs. VJC
allowed only 2 shots at the goal from PSU. Villa scored an
impressive 4 goals the second half by Brent
Woolford (Pasadena, MD/Northeast) assisted by
Vinny Caltabiano (Lothian, MD/St. Joe),
Scott Andrejewski (Lutherville, MD/Towson)
assisted by Brent Snyder (Essex,MD/Patapsco) who
then scored a goal with the assist from Brent
Woolford (Pasadena, MD/ Northeast), and Mark
Sturgeon (Baltimore, MD/Curley) assisted by Jon
Salbeck (Baltimore, MD/ Curley).
This victory improves the Mustangs' record to 6-4 overall and 4-0 in the North East Athletic Conference. The men's soccer team is back in action Saturday, September 30, at Polytechnic University.
