ANNVILLE, Pa. - Stevenson men's soccer junior DR Medtart was named to the 2018 Fall Academic All-MAC Team announced by the league on Tuesday. He is the first member of the men's soccer team to earn this honor since the conference began the award in fall 2013.
The Academic All-MAC teams are based off semester grade-point averages (GPA) for the semester of their championship season. The minimum GPA required is a 3.20, and the student-athlete must remain an eligible member of the team through the conclusion of the season. Voting for this award will be based on 50% academic excellence and 50% athletic prowess by the conference sports information directors.
It is the fourth academic award for Medtart this season, who was also named to the 2018 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Men's Scholar All-South Region Third Team, Google Cloud Academic All-American Second Team, and Google Cloud Academic All-District 2 First Team.
Medtart, who has a 4.00 in criminal justice, ranked third on the team with 15 points on four goals and seven assists, the later ranking first on the team. He also netted two game-winning goals. The junior co-captain recorded a pair of multi-assist games while finishing with one multi-goal game.
Stevenson finished 12-9-1 and advanced to both the MAC Commonwealth semifinals and the ECAC Second Round. The 12 wins are the most since 2010 when the team won 14 games. The school record is 15 set in 2005.
