Sparks returns for his third season with the Mustangs as an assistant coach for the 2014 season.
With over seven years of teaching and coaching experience, Sparks is currently the head coach of the Maryland Olympic Development Program U13 Boys' Team. He also served as the the assistant boys' varsity and head boys' junior varsity coach at Calvert Hall College High School where he also teaches social studies.
A 2005 graduate from York College of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy, Sparks played two years for the men’s varsity team. During his time at York, he was a two-time CAC All-Academic team selection.
Sparks appeared in 26 of the team’s 42 games. He helped the team to back-to-back CAC Semi-final appearances in 2001 and 2002.
In 2010, Sparks earned his master’s degree in teaching from Loyola University and his MSDE Teaching Certificate.
Sparks was also a volunteer assistant for the men’s varsity team at Goucher from January 2012 to June 2012.
