De Leon Leads Mustangs on Day One of Diamond City Invitational

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Stevenson men's swimming freshman Jaq De Leon picked up two top 10 finishes in leading the Mustangs at the Diamond City Invitational, held at the Wyoming Valley Catholic Youth Center. The Mustangs are currently 10th overall with 81.5 points.

De Leon started his day with a fifth place finish in the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:08.57. He would later pick up a sixth place finish in the 100 Backstroke with a personal-best time of 57.82.

The 200 Free Relay team of De Leon, junior Zachery Cather, and freshmen Stephen Kratzer and Matthew Miloszar finished with a combined time of 1.35.77 to take eighth overall in the event. 

De Leon, Cather, Kratzer and freshman Benjamin Reitz closed out the first session with a combined time of 3:58.39 in the 400 Medley Relay. 

Cather swam a personal best in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 56.95, which earned him 12th overall.

Kratzer took 11th in the 200 Free with a 1:55.03.

The third and final session begins on Sunday, November 20 at 10:00 a.m.
