VJC defeated by Augustana 8-1

Hilton Head Island, SC - VJC faced off against Augustana on Monday on their first match of their spring break trip. Augustana was coming off a victory in its last match again the Central Region's 15th ranked team Grinnell.

VJC fell behind early in doubles and despite some spirited singles play could not pull out the match. The best performance of the day was delivered by freshman Ben Petasky in his first collegiate match. He won 6-3 6-4 at #5 singles to give the Mustangs their only point in the 8-1 loss.

VJC is back in action twice tomorrow first at 8am vs. Tri-State University and then later at 6:30pm against Juniata.
