WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Stevenson men's tenns senior Bryan Gieselman and junior Wornden Ly advanced to the semifinals in No. 1 doubles at the MAC Individual Championships, hosted by King's College and Wilkes University. Gieselman and Ly overcame a 6-4 deficit to take the match by a 9-7 score over Jonathan Hastings and Jordan Heavel of Lebanon Valley.
Gieselman took the first set in his No. 1 singles quarterfinal match, but would eventually fall in three sets, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.
Sophomore Douglas Vaughan and senior Kevin Slujtner dropped their No. 2 doubles quarterfinals match by an 8-1 score, while sophomore Peter Appiah Jr. and senior Tony Beres fell in their No. 3 doubles match by the same score.
Vaughan dropped his quarterfinal match in No. 4 singles in straight sets by a 6-2, 6-0 score.
The semifinals and finals of the tournament will take place on Sunday, October 9 starting at 9 a.m.
