SELINSGROVE, Pa. The Stevenson men's track and field team won four events at the Susquehanna University Invitational, which is the Mustangs' final tune-up before next week's MAC Indoor Championships.
Sophomore Dereck Davis and senior Kendall Belser continued their dominance in the 60m dash with first and second-place finishes in the event. Davis clocked a 6.99 to take first, while Belser turned in a 7.05 to place second. Davis and Belser have the first and second-best performances in the conference this season, with times of 6.90 and 7.00. Davis' time is currently tied for ninth in Division III.
Stevenson took first overall in the 4x200m relay with a time of 1:32.51, which was .32 seconds better than second-place Lebanon Valley. The Mustangs currently have fastest time (1:31.48) in the conference, which was set at the Ithaca Bomber Invitational on February 2.
Sophomore Clement Onyebadi took first overall in the high jump with a top height of 1.90m.
The Mustangs would also take first in the Distance Medley Relay with a combined time of 10:41.10.
Junior Iddriss Iddriss placed second in the 400 with a 52.13. Iddriss has the fourth best time in the MAC thus far with a 51.61.
Freshman Nicholas Spratt leaped 6.22m in the long jump to take fifth, while Otchere placed fifth in the triple jump with a 12.63.
Senior Forrest Allen tied his personal best in the weight throw with a toss of 14.24m to take fifth overall in the event. Allen also set a personal record in the shot put with a 12.88m throw, giving him seventh place.
Junior Patrick Watson placed ninth in the mile with a 4:38.20.
The Mustangs, who are ranked fourth in the region, will look to defend their title when they compete in the two-day Middle Atlantic Conference Championships, hosted by Lehigh University, starting on Friday, February 22.
