ANNVILLE, Pa. – Two members of the Stevenson University men's outdoor track and field team swept this week's Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) weekly awardson Monday. Sophomore Matt Riggins was named the MAC Track Athlete of the Week, while sophomore Tevin Bailey was named the conference's Field Athlete of the Week.
Riggins won the 100-meter dash at the Goucher Classic on Saturday with a time of 10.94 seconds, a time that ranks 16th in NCAA Division III thus far. He was also part of two winning relay teams, as the Mustangs won the 4x100 in 42.61 seconds and the 4x400 in a time of 3:26.50.
Bailey took first place in the high jump at the Goucher Classic with a school-record jump of 1.99 meters. His mark is tied for 13th in Division III to date. Bailey also placed fifth in the long jump with a 6.15 meter jump on Saturday.
Stevenson returns to action Thursday when it competes at the Colonial Relays hosted by William & Mary. The Mustangs are also scheduled to compete in Widener's Danny Curran Invitational and the Millersville Metric this weekend.
