Mustangs Compete on Second Day of Morgan State Legacy

BALTIMORE, Md. - The Stevenson men's track and field team competed in the second and final day of the Morgan State Legacy meet.

Sophomore Cooper Smelski placed fourth overall in the Decathlon with 4427 points, which was highlighted by second-place finishes in three events. Smelski took second overall in the javelin with a toss of 33.56m, while also placing second in the pole vault with a height of 2.75m. Smelski was also runner-up in the 1500 with a time of 5:00.30.

Freshman Sidney Yap placed ninth in the discus with a top toss of 41.67 meters.

In the 800, freshman Iddriss Iddriss clocked a 2:00.21.

Sophomore Malcolm Hayward clocked an 11.28 in the 100 meter dash preliminaries, while sophomore Matt Riggins ran an 11.34. 

The Mustangs compete next at the Penn Relays, held at Franklin Field, on Thursday, April 27 through Friday, April 28.
