Case Sets School Record for Points in Decathlon at Mondschein Multi's

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Stevenson men's track and field freshman Ritchie Case set a new school record in the decathlon with 5890 points at the two-day Mondschein Multi's, hosted by Kutztown University. Case placed eighth overall amongst a field of Division I and II athletes in the "Maroon" field of competitors. 

Case set personal marks in both the 100 and 400m dash events on the first day of competition. Case placed fifth overall in the 100 with a time of 11.63 seconds, while placing fourth in the 400 with a 50.85. In the shot put, Case placed fourth with toss of 10.73 meters. 

The second day of the event was highlighted by a fifth place finish in the discus (30.18m). 

Junior Cooper Smelski placed ninth overall out of 14 competitors in the "Gold" field with 5013 points. 

The Mustangs will be splitting up the squad to compete at both the Towson University Invitational and the Bison Outdoor Classic, hosted by Bucknell, on Saturday, April 14.
