Mustangs Win Pop Haddleton MAC 4x400 at Penn Relays, Watson Sets School Record in 5000

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Stevenson men's track and field 4x400 team of freshman Todd Case Jr., sophomore Iddriss Iddriss, and juniors Kendall Belser and Vladhimir Theophile won the Pop Haddleton MAC relay at the Penn Relays, held at Franklin Field. The Mustangs held off Widener by .36 seconds with a season-best time of 3:19.93, which is now the fastest time in the MAC and second to only Wesley (3:18.86) in the Mideast region. 

On Thursday evening, sophomore Patrick Watson set a new school record in the 5000 with a time of 14:48.60. Watson's time is currently fourth-fastest in the region and tops in the MAC. Junior Langston Gash clocked a 15:17.54 in the event. 

Earlier on Friday, the 4x100 relay team of Belser, juniors Malcolm Hayward and Morgan Cheatham, and freshman Dereck Davis crossed the line with a combined time of 43.19. 

The Mustangs compete next in the MAC Outdoor Championships, hosted by Widener, starting on Thursday, May 3.
