Belser Wins 200, Places Third in 100 at ECAC Championships

BALTIMORE, Md. - Junior Kendall Belser took first place overall in the 200 meter dash finals with a time of 21.77 seconds at the ECAC Division III Championships, hosted by Johns Hopkins. Belser would also take third in the 100 with a time of 10.97. Belser's time in the 200 matches his personal best.

The Mustangs would finish fifth out of 28 schools with a team score of 60.5.

Belser would also lead the 4x100 relay team of juniors Malcolm Hayward, Matt Riggins and freshman Dereck Davis to a time of 42.87, which gave them second overall. 

Sophomore Iddriss Iddriss took third in the 400 with a personal-best time of 50.05 seconds, while junior Langston Gash clocked a 4:02.90 to take fifth in the 1500.

Freshman Maurice Johnson placed fifth in the shot put with a toss of 14.21 meters.

Freshman Sean Dodson picked up an eighth place finish in the 800 with a 1:59.46.

Wesley would go on to take the team championship with 93 points.

Freshman Dimeon Wright (long jump) and Iddriss (800) are in position to qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships in their respective events. Wright currently has the 12th best long jump in Division III (7.26m), while Iddriss is 11th in the 800 (1:51.27). The top-20 performances in each event qualify for the meet, which takes place Thursday, May 24 through Saturday, May 26 in La Cross, Wisconsin.
