Wright Places 10th in Long Jump at NCAA Championships

LA CROSSE, Wis. - Freshman Dimeon Wright placed 10th overall in the long jump preliminaries at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Wright's top mark of 7.13 meters was just .03 meters off of qualifying for the final. 

George Alexandris of Montclair State won the national title with a top leap of 7.92 meters, setting a Division III Championship and stadium record. 

During his impressive freshman season, Wright qualified for both the indoor and outdoor national championships in the long jump. Wright currently holds the indoor (7.13 meters) and outdoor (7.26) school record for the event. 

Sophomore Iddriss Iddriss competes in the 800-meter preliminaries on Friday, May 25 at 5:00 pm.
