LA CROSSE, Wis. - Stevenson men's track and field sophomore Iddriss Iddriss placed 13th overall out of 20 runners in the 800 at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Iddriss' time of 1:51.94, which gave him sixth overall in his heat, was just .84 seconds off of qualifying for Saturday's final.
Iddriss ends his sophomore season having set a new school record in the 800 with a time of 1:51.27, which is still tops in the Mideast Region. Iddriss was also the Middle Atlantic Conference Outdoor champion in the event after running a 1:53.63 in the finals.
This also marks the end of an historic season for the program, which won its first Middle Atlantic Conference Championship in both indoor and outdoor. The Mustangs won the indoor title outright, while finishing tied with Widener at the outdoor championship. Stevenson also won its first ECAC Indoor Track and Field Championship this past March.
