Mustangs Place Fifth at the Goucher College Track & Field Classic

TOWSON, Md. - Stevenson outdoor track and field sophomore Alpha Jalloh (New Carrolton, Md./Annapolis Area Christian) and sophomore Donald Rhoads (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) both posted top three finishes in the long jump and 5000-meter run, respectively, to lead the Mustangs to a fifth place finish at the Goucher College Track & Field Classic at Goucher College Saturday.

Salisbury claimed the title at the eight-team mett with 332.333 points, 184.666 ahead of runner-up McDaniel and 245.333 ahead of third place Hood.

Jalloh finished third in the long jump with a distance of 20-feet, 2.91 inches while Rhoads placed third in the 5000-meter run with a time of 19:45.03.

In the triple jump event, junior Shane Skyers (Miami, Fla./Owings Mills) finished fourth with a distance of 39 feet, 11.53 inches.

The Stevenson 4x400-meter relay team of freshman Leodus Brown (Baltimore, Md./Potomac), sophomore Kelvin Kobodje (Edgewater Park, N.J./Willingboro), sophomore Dalonte Simpson (Lusby, Md./Patuxent) and Jalloh finished fourth with a time of 55.90.

Stevenson will return to action on Saturday, April 6 at the Green and White Invitational hosted by York (Pa.).
