Parks returns for her second season as the head cross country and track and field coach at Stevenson in 2012.

In her first season she led the men’s 4x100 meter relay team to a second place finish at the CAC Outdoor Championship landing all four players on the All-CAC Second Team. That team was selected to compete at the ECAC Division III Outdoor Championship where they finished 14th.

The former track and field coach at Franklin High School, Parks graduated magna cum laude from McDaniel in 2009, earning her bachelor's degree in exercise science and physical eduation with a double minor in sport coaching and sport management.

Prior to Stevenson, Parks served as the distance coach for the track and field teams at Franklin, working with distance runners from 400 meters to 3,200 meters and helping them to improve fitness strengths and weaknesses while performing all administrative and coaching duties at meets.

Parks is also a personal trainer and group exercise instructor at Brick Bodies Health and Fitness in Reisterstown and the head trainer for the gym's running club, training beginner-level runner with the goal of running 5K races.

Parks is skilled in creating long-term training plans for runners, advanced understanding of periodization and progression throughout a season, interval and circuit training, sports conditioning as well as strength and core training. She also has extensive training in boxing and martial arts.

In addition to her experience as a coach and trainer, Parks has over seven years of experience in track and distance running, having competed in races from the collegiate track level to full and half marathons. She has run for Charm City Run's elite racing team and the Baltimore/Washington Athletic Club and currently runs for the Falls Road Running Club.

Parks was the seventh-place finisher in her age group at the D.C. National Half Marathon in March, winner of the Alexandria, Virginia Running Festival Half Marathon in May and the fourth female finisher at the Baltimore Women's Classic 5K in June.

Parks also played women's soccer and women's tennis at McDaniel, serving as team captain of the tennis team as a senior.
