NEW YORK, N.Y. - Led by 20 kills and 31 digs from junior Jon Martin (Lititz, Pa./Warwick), the 12th-ranked Stevenson men's volleyball team posted back-to-back wins over Emmanuel and No. 10 Rivier Saturday at ARC Arena in the Baruch Invitational.
The Mustangs began the day with a 22-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-18 victory over Emmanuel before posting a 25-21, 22-25, 25-20, 25-21 win versus Rivier.
Stevenson (8-3), is currently 3-3 this season against teams ranked in the AVCA Division III Men's Top 15 Coaches Poll.
Martin led the way with 12 kills and 14 digs against Emmanuel (3-7) while junior Austin Jacoby (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) added 12 kills and seven digs. Sophomore David Moler (York, Pa./Central York) totaled 36 assists, seven digs and five total blocks.
The Mustangs posted 23 total blocks as a team, including six each by junior Eddy Klepper (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) and sophomore Kyle Wisner (York, Pa./Central York). Wisner also added five kills and six digs while Klepper had four kills.
Against Rivier (7-5), Martin had eight kills and a career-high 17 digs while Jacoby totaled 19 kills, a .500 hitting percentage and eight digs. Moler had 48 assists along with five kills and five digs.
Klepper added seven kills and three total blocks, finishing the day with 11 kills and nine total blocks. Meanwhile, Wisner had nine kills against the Raiders.
Stevenson wraps up competition at the Baruch Invitational on Saturday with games versus No. 11 Elmira and No. 15 MIT on Sunday.
