OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson University men's volleyball team opens its 2019 season with a six-match Midwestern swing beginning on Wednesday, January 16 with a contest at Division II Charleston. The Mustangs are slated to play a total of 30 matches during the regular season.
After opening against the Golden Eagles, the Mustangs travel to Cincinnati to face Mount Saint Joseph on Thursday, January 17 before heading to Illinois. Stevenson faces North Central and Aurora on Saturday, January 19 and Benedictine and Augustana (Ill.) on Sunday, January 20.
Stevenson closes out January with three matches at Kean, taking on Endicott on Friday, January 25 before facing Rivier and Hunter in a pair of matches on Saturday, January 26. February begins with a trip to Virginia, facing Southern Virginia on February 1 before taking on Eastern Mennonite and last season's national runnerup, Stevens, the following day. The Mustangs and Ducks squared off in an NCAA quarterfinal last season.
The Mustangs' Middle Atlantic Conference opener is set for Wednesday, February 13 at Alvernia, with the home opener three days later, as Stevenson hosts Wilkes and Arcadia in a tri-match. The month closes out with a conference tri-match on February 22 at Misericordia with Eastern, followed by a home match against Messiah on February 27.
Stevenson begins March with three straight home matches against Widener (March 2), Trine (March 8) and Randolph-Macon (March 15). The Mustangs are on the road the rest of the month, including a tri-match on March 22 at Marymount against Vassar. The regular season closes out with two home dates in April against Alvernia (April 3) and Eastern (April 6).
The four-team MAC Championship begins with the semfinals on Wednesday, April 10, followed by the final on Saturday, April 13. The Mustangs took last season's inaugural MAC crown with a 3-0 win over Arcadia.
